The Emirate of Fujairah witnessed a remarkable moment for Karate as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, the Crown Prince of Fujairah, honoured the final day of the 2024 Karate 1-Youth League event in the Emirate city.

During his visit, the Crown Prince engaged in discussions with WKF President Antonio Espinós and Asian Karate Federation (AKF) President and WKF Vice President Major General Nasser Alrazooqi. The officials delved into the exciting prospects of future karate events in the region, emphasizing the commitment to further raise the prominence of karate on a global scale.

WKF President Antonio Espinós said:

"We are deeply honoured by the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi at the 2024 Karate 1-Youth League here in Fujairah. His attendance adds great value to our sport and showcases the strength of Karate in the region. The pivotal trajectory of Karate in the Emirates, and the continuous promotion of the unity, sporting spirit, and values of our sport are an example for Karate communities around the world. For that, we are tremendously thankful for the visionary leadership of AKF President Major General Nasser Alrazooqi.”

With the popularity of Karate being displayed throughout the tournament, with over 2000 athletes from 76 countries registered, the relevance of the event was elevated even more as the Crown Prince personally headed the awarding ceremony of the final day.

As the 2024 Karate 1-Youth League concluded, the WKF extends its appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi for gracing the event and to AKF President and UAE Karate Federation President Major General Nasser Alrazooqi for hosting an exceptionally successful tournament.
